Something New?

A week goes by and we get three new bars well refits of existing bars.

Also after only 14 months or so the expensive sports bar in the square has closed. Rumour also has it that shakers on the main street will be open again soon. While on the subject of closed bars then Kuinns is shut this year and all furniture stripped out.

The new bars: Vagabundos formally Plum Sports. Take a bar paint the walls Yellow but the staff of Fools and Horses mix with a DJ box and stir in British beers and you get another but bigger Fools and Horses. What is the point? Be interesting to see what they attract and will it just make the customers of Fools spread across two bars.

Nine Lives formally Scabby Goat and a different name each year. Again a paint job but surprisingly they have knocked out and wall found another toilet got a pool table in and a very small bar looks bigger. Again I think it will struggle to find a place in the market but watch this space it might just do OK

The Camel last year it was the Chill House formally Mickey Gs had a bit of money spent on this and of the new bars it looks at least different to last years look. A relaxed feel Sports TV and plans for food but again who will it attract in a back street but I think of the three has the best chance to survive.

Whilst on something new One Fat Monkey from the makers of the Three Monkeys a american theme diner with a good menu more of a food place than a beer one. The only problem they have and I think teething problems the food service id slow but when it arrives its is worth the wait. They also have a hostel upstairs Monkey House.
